Like any family, we try to organise social outings on a regular basis. This gives everyone the opportunity to get better acquainted and the chance to have a chat.
We also organise special events and workshops to enhance your experience of Spiritualism.

February to November
Workshop and Training Programme 2012
A series of 10 workshops and training days, commencing in February 2012 and ending in November 2012 will run at West Wickham Spiritualist Church. They have been organised and publicised by ELDC (East London District Council) - a branch of the SNU - and will be delivered by some of the most experienced tutors in Spiritualism, including many from Stansted Hall.
The workshops are for anyone wishing to attain a better understanding of mediumship and the Spiritualist religion, philosophy and science.
The dates will fall on the 3rd Saturday of each month and will run from 10 am to 4 pm.
The cost is £15 per session or £120 for the whole year.

18 Feb
Mediumship and its Mechanics (PAS). Mediumship workshop looking at the mechanics, the differences between the psychic and mediums, how to recognise both, importance of education in our development, what we understand about how the spirit world communicates with us and what the spirit world have told us.
17 Mar
Putting our best foot forward. Mediumship workshop looking at how we present Spirit communication to the general public, voice projection and mannerisms, ethics and responsibility, what constitutes evidence and the pitfalls of working publically, legalities involved.
14th Apr
Additional* Trance Workshopwith Glynn Edwards. 10.30 am - 4.30 pm. Cost £15. 1) Trance, Spiritual contact, the entranced state (tutorial). 2) Building the Power - The bridge between two worlds (workshop). 3) Awareness - How the trance state affects you (workshop). 4) Being the instrument and channel for the Power. A day of participation for every student.
21 Apr
Spiritualism, the everyday philosophy (PAS). Active workshop looking at the origination of the 7 Principles, investigating how the 7 Principles apply to our everyday lives, looking at the diverse interpretation of the 7 Principles, debating the philosophy of headline topics, ie: euthanasia, capital and monetary gain, poverty.
19 May
We can't hear you (PAS). A workshop looking at public presentation and addresses, the construction of a philosophical address, topics that should and shouldn't be in an address, voice tone and projection, being inspired by spirit, looking at past orators and speakers.
16 Jun
Healing Spirit. Workshop content to be agreed.
21 Jul
Spiritualism, our religion. A tutorial investigating Spiritualism in the wider context of world religions, looking at the similarities and differences between Spiritualism and other religions, the role of Spiritualism in society today and going forward.

Smoothly does it! An opportunity for church committees to get assistance with the running of a church in accordance with the church rules, how to complete the annual church returns, trust property and its function, the responsibilities of the commmittee members, conducting general meetings, how to write motions and amendments, elections.

Experimental Workshop. A workshop looking at the role science plays in Spiritualism, conducting private sittings as an experiment, the experimental nature of Mediumship, past scientific investigators and what they found, looking at the scientific evidence for the survival hypothesis.
