Our Church has been on this site in Surrey Road since 1962 when the Church, which had previously met in local halls, purchased the building. Ken Marshall, our then President, negotiated the purchase from the Baptist Church and arranged the mortgage through the Spiritualist National Union (SNU). Thankful to own their premises, the Church soon raised the money to pay off the debt.
The Church later became affiliated to the SNU and although independently administered by our own committee under the direction of the President, it is now in Trust to the SNU.
We are a democratic organisation and members are encouraged to have an input into the administration of the Church.

The President and Committee Members are elected annually at our AGM according to the SNU rules. They are responsible for, amongst other things, organizing meetings, booking mediums, finances, paying the bills, keeping the fabric of the building, furniture and fittings in good condition and arranging social events.
Becoming a member
We welcome new attendees to our Church.
Many who come along decide that they would like to commit to becoming a full member with voting rights. You can discuss this option with any of the committee members.
Membership fees at present are £6 and £4.50 for retired or unwaged and are due in January of each year.
NB: These prices may increase slightly in January.
Library
Members are entitled to borrow books from our very comprehensive library for a small amount each week. An excellent way to learn and broaden your knowledge of Spiritualism.
